An American in Kelowna – Behr in Mind our Open House was Color-Coordinated
Here’s a question Alex Trebek will NEVER ask on Jeopardy – “whose townhouse in Kelowna combines the wall colors of Caicos Turquoise, Lime Tree, Wild Watermelon, Morning Sun, Azure Lake, Spring Fauna, and Gingersnap on two stories under one roof?!”
Easy answer – “What is the bright and shiny retreat of yours truly and his much, much better half?“
On Sunday, September 20th – we opened our lake-friendly abode to 36 fantastic friends, neighbors, and co-workers for an end-of-summer Open House. Elaine put out a magnificent spread. The weather was ideal. Everybody got a tour and chance to experience the Potoski palette of painted pageantry.
We had a blast. Late-arriving guests (including MP Ron Cannan and wife Cindy) stayed past 6 PM. Clean up, no surprise, was less exciting and wore us out. We earned the Emmy for Best Afternoon Party Mini-Series.
Water-based bottom line – we like bold, beach-y colors (or colours, as they are known in Canada) that make a statement. There’s more can canvassing coming. Our upstairs Sports Den needs a couple fresh coats. We’re looking at the Behr necessities of Dynamic Magenta and Perfect Sky.
Warning – gratuitous, on-purpose Search Engine Optimization (SEO) advertisements coming up:
For almost every room, we used Behr Marquee paint purchased at the Kelowna Home Depot. It goes on smoothly and dries quickly. I’m sold. The only exception was using Klimt Gold by Ralph Lauren (also purchased at Home Depot) for the guest bedroom.
Okay, Behr/Home Depot, time to dip your roller into the corporate tray and send us a couple gift certificates for gallons of your special sauce. If you do, I’ll post another blog story (with detailed pictures) when the entire house is done and totally Marquee’d. Call it the Behr minimum for customer service and positive PR. You don’t wanna brush off a satisfied customer, do ya?

Love the color palatte! Happy, playful, and vibrant, just like the occupants!
As always, alliteration adored!
Thanks, Beckie. If you come stay with us – the guest bedroom is next to the sports den. More colors coming.
Another interesting read Jim. The colours you have chosen for your home reflect your personalities, bold, vibrant and dynamic. Hope that Home Depot come through for you. Loved the Jeopardy reference.
Thanks, Phase 10 Audrey. We like the background colors on Jeopardy and are leaning towards using them in the sports den. We might have some luck with Home Depot. Behr said no to providing product.
Awe, looks like it was a great party – sorry I wasn’t able to come. You are both so welcoming – your home shows it!
Thanks, Linda. You can always stop by for a tour.
